Casas Bahia Group is a Brazilian retail company founded in 2010, responsible for the Casas Bahia and Pontofrio store chains and their respective virtual stores, for the furniture manufacturer Bartira, in addition to being the administrator of the Extra e-commerce website .com.br.

What was the client’s problem?

Via Varejo’s communication infrastructure was composed of several manufacturers and technologies. The solution was totally decentralized and did not have interoperability, which caused high operation and control costs.

In 2010, 3CORP and its technology partner, the manufacturer Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, designed a VoIP telephony project with Via Varejo to reduce the company´s Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), allowing calls originating from its own stores to be toll-free. This way, the scenario involved the Centralization of Telephony Resources in Via Varejo´s Data Centers in São Caetano do Sul, distributing 10,000 IP Telephony users throughout its network more than.

Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, through its OmniPCX Enterprise Business Communication solution, delivered to Via Varejo a highly reliable solution, converged in voice, data and application, and with rich functionality. Thus, the goals sought by Via Varejo were achieved and all the company’s telephone communications were maintained at no additional cost.

In addition to the aforementioned equipment, Via Varejo’s Communication Infrastructure also has OmniTouch Contact Center Solutions Standard Edition equipped with approximately 400 active service positions, Vocale IVR Audible Response Unit System integrated to internal resources, Vocale R3 Voice Recording Systems and OpenTouch Multimedia Services Unified Communications Solutions.

Via Varejo currently has a high availability solution from the core of the OmniPCX Enterprise solution (allocated to São Caetano do Sul), and it deploys OmniPCX Enterprise Passive Communication Server local survival features distributed throughout the company’s stores. This topology allows Via Varejo facilities to operate continuously and without stops during the whole year.
